The Design and Manufacturing Process Behind Sound Anchors' Heavy Duty Speaker Stands

For home audio enthusiasts we employ a robust approach to construction. Using welded steel, these stands are built with tubular steel and  steel bars measuring ½” and ¾” thick. The stands are also filled and damped at the factory to ensure optimal performance.  Sound Anchors manufactures a number of stands designed for specific speakers (dedicated stands) as well as custom 1, 3 and 4 post stands tailored to meet virtually any speaker on the market.  In addition we have a line of floor bases, amplifier stands and component stands.  All stands are designed to provide a foundation that's not only sturdy but built to deliver a superior sound experience.

In the professional audio domain, our ADJ and ADMID models reign supreme. The ADJ stand critical components, the base, upright, and R-Stalk (or platform support Arm) are all constructed with welded tubular steel and ½” thick steel bars. Precision machining using state-of-the-art CNC equipment ensures a tight, precise fit for maximum stability.

For the ADMID stands, the feet, uprights, top and bottom crosspieces, and speaker support bars undergo the same meticulous construction. Notably, the critical hardware used in all stands are Grade 8 fasteners, recognized for their high strength and engineered excellence. These fasteners, commonly found in industrial machinery, valves, motors, tractors, and even military tanks.  Some may think a bolt is a bolt, but they are highly engineered parts that can vary significantly in how they are designed and manufactured. We manufacture with these high-grade components as part of our commitment to quality.

The weight of our speaker stands is a testament to their solid construction. The ADJ1 and ADJ2 stands weigh approximately 50-55 pounds and 60-65 pounds each, respectively. ADMID stands, which are customizable based on width, generally range from 105 to 125 pounds each when filled and assembled.
